Kimi Antonelli set the pace going into the remainder of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
After four-time F1 champion Max Verstappen finished quickest at the end of FP1, the first time this year a non-Mercedes or Ferrari driver has topped the opening practice session, normal service was resumed for FP2.
Championship leader Antonelli topped a session twice red-flagged with a lap of 1:45.944s around the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, beating McLaren's Lando Norris by 0.190s.
Verstappen, the cause of one of the red flags early on when he sprayed gravel across the track in running wide out of Stavelot, had to settle for being third fastest, just under half a second adrift of Antonelli in his Mercedes.
The second red flag was sparked 14 minutes from the end when Pierre Gasly destroyed the rear of his Alpine by hitting a barrier out of the Fagnes chicane.
