Red Bull hopes to see Max Verstappen in action at Barcelona on Friday. Those chances have increased now that spare parts have arrived from its factory.
Red Bull has received the spare parts it needs to repair the RB22 for Max Verstappen to drive on Friday, RacingNews365 can confirm.
The Milton Keynes-based outfit’s participation on the final day of the Barcelona test had been in doubt following Isack Hadjar’s heavy crash at the final corner on Tuesday afternoon.
Hadjar’s accident caused significant rear damage to the RB22, leading Red Bull to skip running on both Wednesday and Thursday.
Only Verstappen has track time remaining within the Red Bull camp, with the four-time world champion still permitted to complete a full day of running.
Verstappen’s chances of driving on Friday at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya have improved following the arrival of the spare parts, although Red Bull will not make a final decision on whether to run until Friday morning.
So far, Verstappen has completed just 27 laps during the test, all of which were gathered on Tuesday morning in what remains his only track action of the week.
