Jenson Button to be reunited with iconic Brawn F1 championship winner

One of the most iconic driver-car pairings in F1 history are to be reunited next weekend!

One of the most iconic driver-car pairings in F1 history are to be reunited next weekend!

Jenson Button is to be once again reunited with his 2009 championship-winning Brawn F1 car.

Button is to get behind the wheel of the BGP-001 with which he claimed a sensational drivers' crown in 2009 after former Ferrari chief Ross Brawn famously brought the remnants of the Honda F1 team for £1 after its withdrawal at the end of 2008.

Button has driven the car at times since, including at Silverstone, and is to get behind the wheel once again at the Goodwood Members' Meeting next weekend for some demonstration laps.

Only three Brawn BGP 001 chassis were ever created, with Button famously using BGP001/02 throughout his title campaign, with this car being owned by Ross Brawn, and previously demonstrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and by Button during his Silverstone run.

BGP001/01 was used by team-mate Rubens Barrichello through most of the season, including up to the Hungarian GP, winning at Valencia. This chassis was previously owned by Button until he sold it to a private collector at the 2025 Miami GP.

BGP001/03 was raced by Barrichello to the win at Monza, and then throughout the end of the season, and was last on loan to the Silverstone museum.
