Lando Norris has dropped a tantalising hint over the potential of racing at the Nordschleife after taking the to the legendary circuit with his McLaren 750S.

Norris revealed he took to the Nordschleife during the enforced break between Japan and Miami, lapping the aptly dubbed “Green Hell” in his McLaren 750S.

After the Miami GP, the reigning world champion became the latest to profess his love for the infamous German circuit, adding his name to the those who have lapped it this year.

Max Verstappen, racing with his own team in GT3, has attracted wide interest and intrigue that he could quit F1 in favour of sports cars.

Norris now appears to have been bitten by the Nordschleife bug, delivering an emphatic verdict on his experience.

“Honestly, it was the most fun I’ve had all year. It was also so much fun because it’s a track I’ve driven a lot in Gran Turismo and iRacing,” he said.

“I’ve known the Nordschleife from the simulator for years. It’s one of those tracks that everyone wants to drive. Whether you’re a racing driver or not – it’s always cool to do it because it’s so unique.”

“In my McLaren, it was scary and fun at the same time. But the Nordschleife is a track where you can have a lot of fun with any car.”

Norris adding his name to the growing interest in racing at the Nordschleife will only add more focus to GT3, the prospect of Norris and Verstappen racing against each other a truly mouthwatering one.
