Alonso, 45, extends F1 career with new Aston deal

Fernando Alonso will race into his 24th season in Formula 1 after signing a new contract at Aston Martin.

The 45-year-old, comfortably F1's oldest driver on the grid, had previously been hinting at ending his career due to dissatisfaction about the sport's new-for-2026 rules, but his deal was announced on Tuesday ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.

Lance Stroll, the son of team owner Lawrence, has also been extended for 2027.
