Aston Martin up for Monaco fight with 'rocky' new special livery

Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will be sporting a brand-new livery in Monaco.

Aston Martin has unveiled a special livery for the Monaco Grand Prix, tracing the path of 'from rock to the racetrack'.

With principal partner Maaden, the eye-catching design shows the concept of the transformation of metals and minerals from the Earth, and their journey to be used in high-performance engineering.

The bespoke livery features "a colour-shifting, iridescent finish created using a specialist wrap material for the first time in Aston Martin’s history."

This will create an effect of the livery visibly changing colour throughout the race weekend, with the design also set to feature on the driver suits and the helmet and overalls of the number 1 mechanics on Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll's cars.

"This weekend, we are proud to celebrate our Principal Partner Maaden through this unique livery takeover at the Monaco Grand Prix," said managing director, commercial, Jefferson Slack.

"More than a livery alone, the whole campaign highlights the important role Maaden plays in shaping and transforming materials into components we all use – including in the world of Formula 1.

"We look forward to seeing the striking Maaden design on the streets of Monaco this weekend."
