Colton Herta left one point short of F1 Super Licence after IndyCar standings error

A bizarre error from IndyCar has thrown a spanner in the works on the potential plan for Colton Herta to replace Valtteri Bottas at the Cadillac Formula 1 team in 2027.

Herta has emerged as a surprise candidate for the second Cadillac seat in 2027, as Bottas looks set to exit the sport after just one year driving for the American marque.
