Esteban Ocon axed bombshell as Lewis Hamilton ends three-year wait

Haas dropped an F1 paddock bombshell early on Saturday in Mexico City after announcing it had dropped Esteban Ocon for the remainder of the weekend, with Ryo Hirakawa replacing him.

Ocon later released a statement insisting there was no incident featuring "physical violence", as had been reported by one media outlet. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton secured a first pole position for Ferrari, becoming the oldest pole-sitter since Mario Andretti in the 1982 Italian Grand Prix.
