F1 2026 Canadian Grand Prix – FP1 Results

Andrea Kimi Antonelli went fastest in first practice ahead of Sprint Qualifying for this weekend’s Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.

The Italian’s 1:13.402s was enough to see him top the timesheets, by a tenth of a second ahead of Mercedes teammate George Russell.

Lewis Hamilton was third and Charles Leclerc fourth, signalling a potential return as ‘best of the rest’ for Ferrari, but the Brit and Monegasque were nearly eight tenths and a second behind respectively.

Max Verstappen was fifth, ahead of the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

The session saw three red flags, with Liam Lawson’s Racing Bulls coming to a halt early on, followed by Alex Albon being forced to stop his Williams after sustaining damage through running over a mormot.

The third red flag came in the form of Esteban Ocon crashing his Haas on the exit of Turn 4, ripping the front of his car off.
