Formula 1 has revealed its provisional 2027 Grand Prix calendar, with another 24-date schedule and Middle East races included, but the biggest shock has been saved for the Monaco weekend.
The sport’s second year of its new regulations cycle – with electric-ICE tweaks – will see a record 10 Sprint Races, one of which will be held on the famous Principality street circuit on June 5th.
It is certainly a bold and radical move from the sport, which has come under fire in recent years for the continuing lack of overtaking on the circuit, despite attempts to increase entertainment value.
Despite the cancellation of Middle Eastern races [with the final two expected to follow suit] this year, the usual suspects in the Gulf region have been placed on the schedule, with the season kicking off with a Sprint weekend in Bahrain on the weekend of March 12-14, a week after the end of Ramadan.

Canada and Silverstone retain their Sprint statuses, with Portimao’s return to the calendar set for June 20, a week after the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Montreal will once again take place before Monaco, but crucially will not clash with the Indy500, which is due to take place on May 30, one week after.
Like Portimao, Turkey and its popular Istanbul circuit will be back, scheduled to take place on October 3, the second of a triple-header with Azerbaijan and Singapore.
