F2 and F3 unveil changes to 'modernise both championships'

Formula 2 and Formula 3 have announced changes to the identity of the F1 feeder championships.

FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 have revealed new championship logos designed to strengthen the visual connection between the feeder series and Formula 1.

The redesigned logos simplify both brands into single-colour designs, creating what the championships describe as a cleaner and more modern look.

F2 retains its established blue colour scheme, while F3 moves to a new orange palette, replacing the previous grey and red combination.

The orange was selected to reflect what the series calls the "dynamic, energetic and vibrant nature" of F3, in keeping with the youthful and competitive spirit of the championship.

"FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 are fundamental pillars of our global single-seater pathway, nurturing the talent that will shape the future of Formula 1 and world motorsport," FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said.

"These new visual identities modernise both championships while reinforcing their important place within the FIA pyramid and their connection to the pinnacle of our sport."

Meanwhile, Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali added: "Formula 2 and Formula 3 are a critical part of our sport, providing the training and framework for drivers to reach Formula 1.

"It is important that it is clear to fans how the pyramid operates and having a clean, modern visual identity that complements F1 helps to deliver that."

Formula 2 has run under its current guise since it rebranded from GP2 in 2017, and FIA Formula 3 followed two years later, in 2019.

"I am delighted to unveil our new F2 and F3 logos, which have been developed in close collaboration with Formula 1 and the FIA," said Bruno Michel, F2 and F3 CEO.

"Our aim was to better visually convey the journey towards Formula 1 through the elite motorsport pyramid. Blue has always been F2's colour and is well recognised by its fans, and for F3, we've taken the opportunity to inject a brand-new, vibrant and dynamic orange into the logo, which we believe the fans will love."

The new branding will be rolled out across all digital channels, broadcast graphics, trackside signage, and promotional materials.
