Ferrari hand 2027 F1 seat contender latest test

A rising talent is set for a second Formula 1 test this Thursday.

Formula 2 title contender Rafael Câmara is set for his second Formula 1 test with Ferrari this Thursday, following his debut outing last month.

In May, Ferrari handed its rising talent a maiden F1 test at the Hungaroring in an SF-25, and he will be back behind the wheel again this week.

Câmara joined the Ferrari Driver Academy in November 2021 and will once again drive the SF-25 in a Testing of Previous Cars (TPC) session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

He is seen as a genuine contender for an F1 seat in the future, with several rumours linking him to a possible move to Ferrari customer outfit Haas in 2027.

The 21-year-old sits third in the F2 standings, 17 points adrift of the lead, following victory in the Barcelona feature race last weekend.

In what is Câmara's debut season in the category, the Brazilian is proving to be hugely impressive and a genuine star of the future, with the Invicta Racing driver now boasting three podium finishes from 10 races.

It is a busy week in Barcelona, with a Pirelli tyre test taking place on Tuesday. Ferrari, Cadillac and Aston Martin are all in action.

According to Auto Racer, Charles Leclerc will drive for the Scuderia after another difficult weekend, while Zhou Guanyu and Jak Crawford will also be in action.
