Isack Hadjar feels he was "too kind" to Lewis Hamilton during his fight with the "big boys" during the Austrian Grand Prix.
Hadjar claimed sixth at the Red Bull Ring, but had an eventful race, especially with Hamilton coming back through the points positions after his three-stop strategy.
Not only did Hadjar go wheel-to-wheel with seven-time champion Hamilton, but he also fought the McLaren drivers of reigning champion Lando Norris and nine-time grand prix winner Oscar Piastri.
Reflecting on the "cool" battles, Hadjar felt he was "maybe too kind" when battling with Hamilton, who eased past at Turn 4.
"It was just cool," Hadjar reflected to media, including RacingNews365, of the battles he had, including with Hamilton.
"There was nothing that I necessarily learned, but maybe I was a bit too kind to Lewis into Turn 4.
"I don't remember a race in my career where I fought with the big boys, like the Ferrari and the McLaren, so that was good fun.
"That was a first, and I think we succeeded quite well, and I think it went pretty well.
"We had the first update in Miami, and did a big step forward, and now we did a nice step in the race, but on one lap, it is still not like Mercedes, but that is fine.
"I think we had the second-quickest car [in the race], and usually we struggle more with race pace than qualifying pace, and this weekend was more equal, so it was very good."
