Isack Hadjar set for Red Bull return in Baku

Isack Hadjar is set to make a return to Red Bull at this weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, RacingNews365 understands.

Hadjar’s last appearance behind the wheel of an F1 car came at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July, prior to the summer break.

Whilst enjoying the time off, Hadjar picked up an injury which subsequently ruled him out of the following three rounds at Zandvoort, Monza and Madrid.

In his place stepped Liam Lawson, who received a second call-up to Red Bull after a short stint with the Milton Keynes-based squad at the beginning of 2025.

Yuki Tsunoda was then drafted up in place of Lawson at Racing Bulls, making his return after vacating the Red Bull drive at the end of last year.

Hadjar underwent final evaluations on Monday, with a call needing to be made earlier than usual due to the different time schedule in place for the weekend.

The decision was made after Hadjar took part in a simulator session, with the Frenchman now set to resume his season at the start of the upcoming triple header.

The 21-year-old will take up his position at Red Bull alongside Max Verstappen as the squad hopes to lift itself back up the pecking order as the season approaches its final third.
