Isack Hadjar has revealed a bespoke helmet design for this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix, complete with a tongue-in-cheek nod to one of the more memorable moments from his debut F1 season.
Following in the footsteps of team-mate Max Verstappen, who also unveiled a special lid for his home race, Hadjar's design pays tribute to his first podium finish in Formula 1, which came at Zandvoort last year.
The helmet is dominated by shades of blue and white, which may well make it difficult to distinguish from Verstappen's own design at a glance.
The young Frenchman arrives in the North Holland dunes in good form, having scored points in each of his last seven races for Red Bull.
But it is Zandvoort that holds a particularly special place in his short Formula 1 career, given it was the venue where he claimed that breakthrough third-place finish.
Hadjar benefited from a late retirement by Lando Norris to inherit the final podium position, and he earned it by keeping George Russell at bay for the remainder of the race. It was a composed and confident display from a driver still finding his feet at the sport's highest level.
The story did not end there, however. When the time came to celebrate with his team, the trophy that accompanied the achievement did not survive the occasion in one piece. Hadjar found himself holding two halves of what had, moments before, been his first Formula 1 podium trophy.
It is precisely that detail, the broken trophy, that serves as the playful reference on this weekend's helmet design. Rather than shy away from the incident, Hadjar has leant into it, immortalising the moment on his helmet ahead of his return to the circuit where it all happened.
