Williams team principal James Vowles has declared that returning the Grove outfit to the required competitive level in Formula 1 will become his "life's journey".
Vowles joined Williams in 2023 and was faced with the immense challenge of bringing the outdated infrastructure up to scratch and rebuilding the team to return it to its championship-winning form.
Speaking on the team's official Team Torque podcast alongside Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, Vowles reflected on the long-term building process underway at Williams.
Responding to a fan question about how to build resilience and mental toughness in a team the size of Williams, Vowles said: "There are so many life experiences that are hard that as long as you have the right approach to it, you come out the other side a better person.
"The second is that I am stubborn and persistent and we will be at the level we need to be. This will become my life's journey to achieve it, but as it is the both of yours [Albon and Sainz] as well, but the reality behind that is that it creates a strength that no one can break as a result of it."

Williams has had a tough start to its 2026 campaign, arriving at pre-season testing in Bahrain with an overweight car and having missed the private test at Barcelona. But both Albon and Sainz signed contract extensions ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.
Vowles touched on the commitment from both drivers during the podcast. "Thank you to both of you, but it'll be an absolute honour to have you by my side and as part of Williams for next year and hopefully many, many years beyond," he said.
Albon has signed a one-year extension until the end of 2027 and Sainz has signed a new multi-year deal.
