Former F1 driver Kevin Magnussen immediately lost the advantage of pole position at the start of the 2026 Le Mans 24 Hours, as the Ferraris made contact on the opening lap.
From pole position, the Danish driver was jumped by team-mate Rene Rast in the sister #20 BMW machine, with the #15 of Magnussen dropping to third.
Will Stevens in the #12 Cadillac jumped to second with Alpine's Ferdinand Habsburg in fourth ahead of the other two Hypercar Cadillacs, started by Felipe Albuquerque and Earl Bamber.
On the opening tour of the 24 hours, the Ferrari machines of Antonio Giovinazzi and the #50 of Nicklas Nielsen banged doors and wheels through the chicanes on the Mulsanne straight, with Giovinazzi emerging ahead.
LMP2 is led by the #28 machine, driven by Job van Uitert whilst LMGT3 is held by the #27 Aston Martin.
