Liam Lawson is eyeing Racing Bulls' "trend" of being very strong in qualifying continuing across the rest of the season, as the team battles Alpine for the "best of the rest" title.
The Red Bull sister outfit has enjoyed a solid start to the season, with Lawson in particular enjoying a run of consistent performances.
Lawson has scored points in three consecutive races and in five of the seven completed rounds overall, placing him 10th in the drivers' championship.
Rookie team-mate Arvid Lindblad is also enjoying a positive start to his maiden campaign and has scored points in back-to-back races.
As things stand, it looks set to be a battle between Racing Bulls and Alpine for fifth behind the big four, a position currently held by Alpine, with the Faenza-based squad 16 points adrift.
Qualifying has been a major strength of Racing Bulls this year, with Lawson making regular appearances in Q3; however, race pace has been an issue at times.
This was the case in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, where Lawson finished eighth before noting that the team still needs to unlock better race performance.
Discussing both himself and Lindblad scoring points in back-to-back races, Lawson told select media, including RacingNews365: "Yeah, for us it's good.
"It's a long season; we have a lot of races to go. Alpine have had some good races recently and scored some good points.
"But yeah, if we keep this trend, obviously we had a quick car in qualifying. Hopefully that translates to the rest of the season.
"I think Barcelona is normally quite a good sign for that, so we just need to sort out the race car."
