Liam Lawson has stated he is in a “better place” compared to last year amid his strong start to the 2026 campaign.
The New Zealander has scored points at five out of the seven grands prix held so far, lifting himself into the top 10 in the drivers' standings.
This time last year, Lawson was still attempting to recover from the disappointing start to the season he had with Red Bull.
A challenging opening two rounds to the season with the Milton Keynes-based squad resulted in his demotion back to Racing Bulls before he was retained for the current season.
The entry has been a competitive one from Racing Bulls, who has hit the ground running as part of the regulation overhaul.
“The cars are very interesting this year,” Lawson told media including RacingNews365.
“We're all obviously still getting used to them, learning.
“Development is obviously massive this year. We're all finding sort of big things most weekends, so we're all chasing that.”
For Lawson himself, he asserted he is only going to get more rounded as a driver as he continues to add experience to his arsenal.
“On a personal level – probably, I think we’re always evolving and learning,” he said.
“So, the more experience I have, I'm going to get better. And I think compared to last year, I would say I'm in a better place.
“There's been a bit more consistency this year and that's been helping.”
