The eighth round of the 2026 Formula 1 season takes place this weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria.
Friday's two practice sessions provided a first look at the competitive order around the short, high-altitude circuit, and it was Mercedes who dominated proceedings.
Kimi Antonelli topped both FP1 and FP2, setting a best time of 1:07.796 in the opening session before lowering his benchmark to a 1:07.014 in the afternoon. Team-mate George Russell was second-fastest in FP1, just 0.040s adrift, while Oscar Piastri slotted into third.
Saturday morning's final practice session offers teams their last chance to fine-tune car set-ups ahead of qualifying later in the day, with engineers and drivers working through final ride-height adjustments, tyre preparation strategies and balance changes.
