Red Bull has confirmed to RacingNews365 that Isack Hadjar will start the Belgian Grand Prix from the back of the grid, with the Milton Keynes-based squad making changes to his power unit.
As per the F1 regulations, the multiple components changed in his RB22 at Spa-Francorchamps mean he will incur at least a 15-place penalty and therefore will automatically start from the rear of the field.
The rules mandate a 10-place grid drop for the first time a driver exceeds their allotted number of components for a specific part, with five for each occurrence thereafter.
These are cumulative, which has resulted in Hadjar's qualifying fate being sealed before FP1 in the Ardennes Forest has even got underway.
Spa-Francorchamps is a local place for teams to take grid penalties, with overtaking prevalent — and significantly more so than the two rounds to follow, at the Hungaroring and Zandvoort, respectively.
Lando Norris will also incur a grid drop of 10 places this weekend, with McLaren confirming a change to the PU-CE (power unit control electronics) in his MCL40.
