Red Bull find Gianpiero Lambiase successor at Aston Martin - report

Red Bull has reportedly settled on a successor to Gianpiero Lambiase when the Briton departs for McLaren, according to a report.

In recent years, the Red Bull team has seen a significant part of its senior staff move on, with exits including Rob Marshall, Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, Christian Horner, and Helmut Marko.

Earlier this year, Red Bull confirmed that Lambiase, who has operated as Max Verstappen's race engineer for a decade, will also leave the team.

However, Red Bull is not sitting still and is scanning the market for talent as it seeks to return to the forefront of the pecking order.

Last week, it announced the signing of Gwen Lagrue from Mercedes, who will lead the team's famous junior driver programme from 2027.

While Lagrue will not have a role related to trackside operations, he will be tasked with overseeing the development of future Red Bull driver talent, having worked with drivers such as Kimi Antonelli and George Russell in the past.

And it seems the team is already preparing for Lambiase's exit, with BILD reporting that Tom McCullough is set to take over Lambiase's role.

In addition to his duties as Verstappen's right-hand man, Lambiase has been the head of race engineering since 2022.

But upon his exit, McCullough, who holds the title of performance director at Aston Martin, is set to take over the role at Red Bull.

According to BILD, a start date for McCullough is not yet known.
