Red Bull is believed to have formally lodged an appeal with the FIA International Court of Appeal regarding the Monaco Grand Prix results, RacingNews365 understands.
It is understood that the Milton Keynes-based outfit has taken the same action as McLaren, which announced its appeal on Tuesday afternoon.
McLaren released a full statement confirming that its decision to lodge an appeal regarding the Monaco results was based on its belief that "this case raises important questions concerning sporting fairness, regulatory consistency and the integrity of competition."
The move comes after the FIA announced during the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix weekend that Pierre Gasly had been reinstated to third place in Monaco, with his two five-second time penalties for allegedly speeding in the pit lane being voided.
The FIA acknowledged that one of the timing loops in the Circuit de Monaco pit lane was shorter than it should have been, resulting in several drivers being handed similar penalties.
Crucially, all other drivers penalised for speeding in the pit lane served their punishments during the race, unlike Gasly. As a result, it was impossible for the FIA to reverse penalties that had already been served.
Gasly's return to third demoted Oscar Piastri from fourth to fifth, while in Red Bull's case it dropped Isack Hadjar from a maiden podium for the team to fourth place.
It is understood that the Austrian outfit has decided to appeal the Monaco results because its primary concern relates to the sporting implications of reinstating Gasly, as well as the potential consequences of that decision.
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff confirmed over the weekend in Barcelona that the Silver Arrows had requested a Right of Review.
