Remarkable Lewis Hamilton milestone underlines dramatic Ferrari turnaround

Lewis Hamilton has bounced back from his terrible year in 2025 - his worst in F1.

After just 10 rounds of the 2026 F1 season, Lewis Hamilton has already eclipsed the total number of points scored during his annus horribilis in 2025.

In his first year at Ferrari, Hamilton failed to land a grand prix podium for the first time in his career, finishing fourth four times, although he did win the Chinese GP Sprint and took third in the shorter Miami race.

Struggling badly to adapt to the SF-25 machine, Hamilton branded himself "useless" after qualifying in 12th in Hungary and hinted that Ferrari should sign another driver, and in the wet of Las Vegas qualifying, he qualified last on pure pace alone for the first time in his career.

However, the change in regulations for 2026 has unlocked Hamilton's speed once again, with the Briton finally claiming a first podium for the Scuderia in China with third place.

He has since followed that with second places in Canada and Monaco, and a another third at Silverstone to go with an emotional first victory for Ferrari in Barcelona - ending his long drought which stretched back to the 2024 Belgian GP.

In the 2026 race at Spa, Hamilton did suffer a messy weekend, but came home in fourth place to score 12 points and move up to second in the drivers' championship on 159 points. In doing so, he eclipsed the 156 points he scored in total in 24 grands prix and six Sprints in 2025.

In 2026, Hamilton has managed more in 10 grands prix and four Sprints.

In total, Hamilton has scored a total of 5,177.50 points in his career, as of the 2026 Belgian GP.

The half point he scored came in the 2021 Belgian GP, which was abandoned due to rain with only one lap completed behind the safety car. Hamilton 'finished' third, with the usual 15 points halved to 7.5.
