Verstappen issues 'warning' to karting opponent: 'I'll plough him into the wall!'

After the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen will take on 100 karters in a special Red Bull challenge.

Max Verstappen has addressed the upcoming kart race that he is set to partake in, delivering a light-hearted warning that he will be ruthless.

After the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend, Verstappen will take part in a unique event at Silverstone.

The four-time champion will face off against 100 opponents after the Madrid event in a field that features Red Bull athletes, journalists, content creators, and others.

Verstappen will have 30 laps to make his way through the pick and win the race, and when overtaken by the Dutchman, you will be eliminated.

Ahead of the Madrid F1 event, a journalist asked Verstappen a question about the race, stating that a good friend of his was participating in what he said is the “biggest race of his career.”

With a laugh, Verstappen replied: “He’d better move out of the way, otherwise I'm going to plough him into the barrier.

After the journalist then tried to get a serious answer out of him, he replied: “I was very serious. He'd better move when I'm coming!”

The race will take place on September 16 at 18:00 BST, and will be streamed worldwide on Disney+.

Verstappen was then asked what the starting grid will look like, playfully adding: “I think they get positioned by pace.

“I hope for him that he's at the back, so that he's straight out of the [race].”
