Verstappen crash fury as Antonelli shock failure blows up title fight

Charles Leclerc secured a surprise first victory of the season in the British Grand Prix, as late drama for Max Verstappen and championship leader Kimi Antonelli triggered chaos at Silverstone. Antonelli was looking strong for victory himself, before a bizarre Mercedes failure saw his pace vanish and his car become near undrivable. It made him exceed track limits, resulting in a five-second time penalty and no points being scored. However, it was an unusual accident for Verstappen which truly caused significant chaos.
